The Brief

BBC Radio 1, alongside The European Broadcasting Union, wanted to create a format which would unite youth radio stations across the continent.

The Solution

We developed and delivered Europe's Biggest Dance Show. A seven hour broadcast which united seven countries across Europe for one massive Friday night of Dance Music. The show started with Annie Mac at Radio 1 in London, before heading to Stockholm, Cologne, Berlin, Brussels, Dublin, Amsterdam and Paris. We did this for the first time in October 2019, but in Spring 2020 the show returned again amid Europe's Coronavirus Lockdown. BBC Radio 1's Friday night dance music output is world famous but during the pandemic the shows have felt more valued than ever. To be able to share that with our European counterparts was very special.
